I like to deploy an ASA5505 here in our Corporate HQ to provide IPSec VPN access to our internal Network as well as secure Internetaccess for our internal Users. At the moment we need up to ten concurrent incoming VPN sessions. In the future maybe more. As I am a newbee to Ciscos VPN appliances I have the following questions:
Do I need an additional Router to connect the internal LAN to the ISP SDSL-Modem? Does ASA5505 has an internal PPPoE Client? Does ASA5505 has an internal IPS/Virusprotection? Can ASA5505 act as the primary Gateway between Inet & Internal LAN or do I need an additional Router for this? Can ASA5505 act as Firewall between internal LAN & Internet for the corporate Network ( around 150 Users)?
Hope somebody can help with his/her experience and give me a good advice. At the moment we have a Netscreen 5GT deployed which we like to retire therefore we are looking for a suitable cisco replacement.
Any thoughts?
Hope to hear from you....
Andy
