alias command issue in ASA 7.22 on a pix

alias (inside) command that was working fine in 6.3 is hosing connectivity to the inside address after upgrade to 7.22. Interestingly, there's this bug which is as vague as can be. In my case the command is performing the expected action but causing an unexpected problem as well.

Symptom: alias command not working.

Conditions:

ASA running 7.1.2.10 is not able to use the alias command.
