Aironet 1400 ethernet problem

Our 1400 aironet brings the whole subnet down but when we unplug its ethernet port, the entire subnet comes back up. When we plug it into a stand alone network/switch, it's radio/ethernet ports work wonderfully - no log errors, etc. We've checked the obvious (dup ip's, switch ports, cables, etc.). anyone ever hear of this?

Is it just setup as a bridge, or do you have it configured to actually provide its own network (ie. does it have a routed interface and corresponding default gateway)? Sounds like it could be taking over the .1 gateway address but doesn't know where to send traffic beyond that. Can the hosts ping the gateway when the AP comes up? What does the arp table on the hosts show if they can? Does the mac match the actual router or the ap's ethernet mac address? Paste the config if you have it (without passwords, etc of course).

When you hook up the 1400, does this create a bridge loop? If so, then you may be running afoul of a known issue with the BR1310/1410 (CSCsb80462), where it will fail to forward traffic, even though STP has converged. If you wait for something like 15 minutes, the bad bridge table entries in the 1400 will age out and it should start passing traffic.

(This is just a guess, of course, without any more detailed information.)
