I have to move the configuration of a PIX 506E to a 501. I think there are some differences in interface speed but what else do I need to watch out for?

10 user license? Update to latest OS moves this to 50, IIRC
Theres not too much difference between the two, besides the number of concurrent connections/vpn endpoints etc they can handle. Just watch out for that.
No, the PIX 501 base is still 10 user in 6.3(5)112
The 501 has a small DHCP pool, no turbo ACL support, does not allow manual configuration of Security Associations, does not support OSPF, and has no 802.1Q VLAN support.
