4500 RSPAN ?? Does it work?

Hello,

I have two 4500's which I tried to RSPAN between.

This failed.

Ports Gi 1/2 on each switch connects the two switches. STP has a root and a non root on this VLAN which only exists on these two ports.

############## # Sw1 - Target # ##############

cat4000-i5s-mz.122-20.EW.bin Supervisor V

sh run | inc monitor monitor session 1 destination interface Fa7/47 monitor session 1 source remote vlan 991

sh int trunk Port Vlans allowed and active in management domain Gi1/2 12,30,991

Port Vlans in spanning tree forwarding state and not pruned Gi1/2 12,30,991

############## # Sw2-source # ##############

cat4000-i5s-mz.121-20.EW1.bin cisco WS-C4506 (XPC8245) processor

sh run | inc monitor monitor session 1 source interface Fa3/48 monitor session 1 destination remote vlan 991

Port Vlans allowed and active in management domain Gi1/2 12,30,991

Port Vlans in spanning tree forwarding state and not pruned Gi1/2 12,30,991

What am I missing?

Does it work at all?

Thanks.

Well no, I only followed the Configuration guide chapter on "Configuring SPAN and RSPAN"

I messasge from Cisco to persuade me to go on the hands on courses?

Thanks a _lot_.

By the way, the text "remote-span" only appears in the

12.2(20)EW conf guide in a descriptive sense and does not appear at all as a "Key Word".
