11500 Content Switches -- Caching

Hello,

I researching alternatives to our current non-failover webserver environment. I want to introduce 11501s to help with that part. However, our web applications are very image intensive. I am curious what caching technologies such as Oracle's Webcache can truly to do to help this type of environment and if Cisco has something similar. Does the 11500 series have support to cache content like this locally? I know they have an SSL accelerator too.

Thanks!

CSS are just content switches with SSL offloaders, they want cache anything. You would have to use it something behind CSS to provide content to CSS.Cisco dev, squid for images or any other devices with Your content.

Check out Cisco AVS 3100 Series Application Velocity System

for web caching solution and wide area application service

for generic data caching and WAN data compression solution. Sounds like AVS should solve your problem.
