Is the WS-C2924M-XL-A acceptable for the CCNP lab? I'm not what sure the differences are between that and the EN, but any help would be appreciated.

Most of the new NP labs rely heavily on the 3550 and 2950. The 2924 is an IOS device but you probably can only run ISL and don't even consider doing layer 3 on it. It will work for some labs.
