DR router?does it remain DR even when another router is added with a higher priority?

Hi there-would like clarifciation that if a DR has been elected-with either priority/loopback in a network and the BDR has laso been chosen. If a new router is added to the topology with ,say, a higher priority would this router become the DR? or would the oriignal still be the DR? Many thanks

Hi,

Yes, DR or BDR is not preempted.

DR and BDR - so you mean OSPF :) After the election process, even if you add another router with a higher =

priority DR and BDR will not change. DR (and BDR) will change only if it =

fail, disconnect or something like that. In IS-IS it's totally different ;)
