CIT exam - simulation

Oct 25, 2006 3 Replies

Hi,

I just had my CIT exam, failed by a few points. My bad. I have to study harder :-) Among many questions there was one simulation - 3 routers connected together (serial links) (A-B-C), during upload of the config to the middle one (B) something failed and the router became unresponsive, but the link and the protocol stayed up. Config on both routers (A&C) connected to the failed one are locked, i can't change anything. How to fix the router in the middle? I've spent over 10 minutes trying to ping telnet etc, show run didn't reveal anything unusual. I know that this is fixable, but how?

Any hints or ideas - welcome :-)

regards pshemko

Could you reload router B and use the break sequence? Then change the config reg? to 0x2142 to bypass the initial start up?

CDP is your friend

to see some info about how B is actually configured after the failure

of course that should read
