CCNA study book recommendation

What are the best books and software to buy in order to do very well on the CCNA exam(s)?

I hear conflicting reports on Sybex and Cisco Systems texts. What is the best simulation software?

Thanks very much for suggestions.

On one of the CCNA forum websites, someone recommended the CCNA book by Richard Deal. I went ahead and bought it and so far I'm very happy with the content of it. Of course the real measure of the book will come to light when I take my ICND test (I passed INTRO before I bought the book).

As for sim software, I can't say anything much about it since I bought some

2500 series routers for practice. Many say the best experience is the hands on type. I bought my routers on e-bay for around 50 bucks a piece. Not to mention the valuable experience you get just for upgrading their IOS. The 2500 series come with IOS version 11.0. I upgraded the routers to 12.1.

Hope this helps.
