Is it worth studying for the 640-801, or should i wait a while to see which exam replaces it.

Does it matter if you attained CCNA via 640-801 or the next generation exam. It is still the same certification. With that said you might as well engage now as cisco generally increases the difficulty of the exams in subsequent generations. CCNA is presently two exams, but not too long ago it was just one exam that was a cake walk.
