Avoiding router searching for typos?

Nov 15, 2006 3 Replies

Hi, When configing routers I am prone to alot of spelling errors-which results sometimes in the router trying to connect to the internet(which is not there) to find out what the ocmmand meant-my tutor did tell me a command to put in to stop this from happening- however he has since left adn I cant seem to find out what to type. TIA

Actually, your router interprets the mistyped command as a host name and tries to resolve the name to an ip address. The command to stop this is: router(config)# no ip domain-lookup

Nice one dude! Thanks alot for that.
