F-CONN BNC cable insertion?

I picked up some F-Conn RG6Q BNC ends for a project. I'm having the hardest time actually pushing the stripped cable end into one and having the center pin extend fully before the crimp is done. I've wasted 5-6 of these now.

I figure I've doing something dumb. Anybody have any pointers for doing this? Do I just have wonky RG6Q cable that these ends don't like? Any brands work better than others? The F connectors work great, I thought the BNC would work just as well.

I've never heard of any problems with them. Are you sure that your stripper is cutting off the outer foil and braid? Could the cable be plenum and the connectors not, or the other way around? They should slide on as easily as the F connectors.
