WRT54G pings under WinXP, not Linux. Why?

Pinging 192.168.1.1 via WiFi works for WinXP but not under Linux (Slackware

10.1, kernel 2.6.15.4).

(Via cable the ping is fine; I have full internet access on the Linux WiFi connection.)

Is this something to do with the 'Block Anonymous Internet Requests' being checked?

Many thanks for any pointers...

your later message indicates "host unreachable". That generally means the IP configuration is invalid. Check your config under linux is correct - sensible IP address, correct netmask, correct default gateway.

Like I said, via cable the ping is fine; I have full internet access on the Linux WiFi connection.
