WEP to WPA

Jan 10, 2008 2 Replies

Finally got around to securing the home network with a LinkSys WRT54GS. The LinkSys monitor advised to move from WEP for speed and security reasons which I did.

My work machine and my wife's laptop work fine but the 'ol Toshiba laptop (A55-S3063) will not connect with WPA2-PSK. That Authentication type is not in the drop down. I (think I) have installed all applicable updates.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

  1. Get a wireless adapter that supports WPA2-PSK.
  2. Use WPA "classic" instead.

probably a pre WPA card........

change it out for a newer model. They are normally located under one of the bottom covers.
