USR5461 and NetBEUI

Dec 01, 2005 0 Replies

Hi All,

Okay, now I am starting to get a complex here.

This is the second time I have been throttled installing NetBEUI (print and file sharing that does not route to the Internet) over a USR 5461 wireless router. NetBIOS over TCP/IP is disabled. Both networks were configured with WPA2. And, TCP/IP (other than NetBIOS) is working fine (users are able to surf the Internet without hindrance).

Instance 1: XP-home, sp2 to Win98 SE Instance 2: XP-Pro, sp2 to XP-Pro, sp1

Both were unable to browser the others shares or mount the others printers, even when the network path was typed in manually.

I have always been successful using NetBEUI over wired networks. Is the USR5461 not protocol neutral? What am I doing wrong?

Many thanks,

--Tony
