tkip or aes encryption? my comp only connects with tkip

Which is better: aes or tkip? I can never get my wireless connected when I set it for aes. It only connects with tkip, so I might not have any choice. But should I care anyway?

Generally, a wireless router or access point will support only one at a time -- either AES or TKIP.

I prefer AES myself because it is a very good encryption algorithm. Use TKIP at home and AES at work (my home system contains a client card which doesn't support AES).

Either is OK. No reports that either can be broken (except when using a weak key). So use a good key and don't worry.

So, switch to Windoze Wireless Zero Config and install the WPA2 supplicant. |

that it currently does not support all the new and improved methods of authentication. Currently, only EAP-TLS is supported. |

AES is WPA2 - not all hardware supports this (my desktop's WiFi PCI card doesn't.)
