Can a processor affect the way a w/lan works as opposed to a lan as a friend has a 233 mhz intel on 128 mbdramm and is complaining about the time it takes to get online ,i recomended changing board and processor as well as mem ,anythoughts accepted> Thanks>john ps:it was working yesterday but not today then it came up after 10 mins or so and the pc is in same room as router netgear mr 814 v1,told them i would wire it as i am wired to same router. john

It could yes, depending on how much proccesing is done on the card and how much in software by the driver. My laptop is a little slower overall when using the wireless card-even for non-network operations.
No contest: if you can get a lead to it do it that way. It's faster, cheaper,more secure, and more reliable.
