I have a Linksys nic, I get really strong signals, But when I click to connect I get a error saying" no association with access point" Windows will not let me use their wireless control, even tho I check off let windows control wireless in Linksys menu.

In that case I might be able to help you.
When I first got my laptop I had a strong signal but no association. It turned out that I didn't know where the switch was to turn on the wireless card.
look in the users manual of your laptop and make sure you have turned on the switch or pushed the button to activate your wireless card.
If it wasn't on it wouldn't receive a signal.
