Need help extending range of WLAN

Hi,

I'm having problems in connecting a DSL Router (DI-624) and an Access Point (DWL-AP700). With my notebook I can see the signal of the Router and sometimes I can even connect to the internet. Now I'd like to use my AP in Repeater mode, so that the weak signal becomes a strong one, or use it in Wireless Client mode, as I expect that the AP can capture the weak signal much better.

Unfortunately, the Repeater mode does not work, even though I specified the MAC adress correctly. What could cause this problem?

The Wireless Client mode does not work either. In the log file of the Router, the AP is not even recognized, whereas the notebook is registered and handed out an IP adress.

Thanks for any hints! Herbert

You'll probably need a better antenna.

Turn off all security in the router while troubleshooting. When you get it working, turn on WPA with a strong passphrase.
