Hi,I have recently splashed out on the said router and USB wirelessadaptor of the same brand. Network is stable and running fine and Ihappy to report, which is something I guess! However, I have beenscratching my head over the past week or so trying to get portforwarding work, to no avail. I have rung linksys and followed everystep they suggest, and still the same result. I am assured by them thatthe router has the required port open and that everything is fineaccording to their port scanning s/w...What I am trying to do is to create a secure tunnel from my work PC tomy home PC (through company proxy) on port 443 using putty and copsshas the listener on my home box... Then use TightVNC to remote connectusing this tunnel. Bascially, port forwarding a local port to 5900remotely.copssh is installed as a service and appears to be configuredcorrectly, although I am unsure about how I would test this... As Isaid, the network is up fine and I have also been able to connect usinglogmein, which is ok, but pitifully slow! My n/w adapter is configuredwith a static IP and I have setup said IP in port range forwarding ANDport range triggering on the router with no effect...Does anyone have any pearls of wisdom (apart from buy a new router asit is not an option unfortunately!). I am pretty new to this networkinglark and so I apologise in advance if I have left any vital info out...Thanks for any help!CheersTim

I wasnt telling him to test the security of his computer, i was just pointing to a solution to test his port forwarding. If his port forwarding is working it will show him that it is open. Just a FWIW.
