Huge upload rate on wireless network

I;ve got an ASUS USB adapter, joining to a belkin pre-n wireless router. This problem doesn't happen to anyone else on my network, but I am having huge uploads all the time. When I check the status of the connection, the number of packets sent is almost the same, if not higher than the number received. Does this mean I'm uploading at huge rates, what could cause this?

After using netstat, I notice that pairs of ports (next to each other) are always connected to each other, e.g. right now it says ports 1592 and 1593 are establshed. And also 3296 and 3297 are also connected. Could this be causing it?

Cheers in advance. ed

These packets are probably the (very small) ACK (ACKnowledge receipt) packets for your download packets.
