So, what is this little wonder? Searching "YDI AMP2440" returns nothing other than ads you've placed....

It's a commercial duty antenna mounted 1/2 watt WiFi booster amp. YDI got sold to Proxim, I think, a while back. Worth a Google maybe?

YDI (young designs Inc,, owned by michael young) was bought terabeam Inc, who then was bought by proxim.

YDI was a player in the WiFi game for about 6 years manufacturing some of their own equipment and 'rebranding' others. most of their stuff now is at least 2 years old and all out of warranty.
The YDI amp is a good commerical amp with a fairly low rx noise figure second only to RF linx.
they had both outdoor and indoor versions of the amp available, they are hard to get repaired because of the proxim deal. YDI has only ONE tech support person located in Virginia and past that your on your own
