This group is alas a mere shadow of its former self back in the glory days of Pat Townson. Many of the old regulars may well be jacking in at that Great Switchboard in the sky, like Pat. Or gone on to other things.
Kind of like Usenet in general, I guess. :-(

I got an 800 number from a vendor PAT recommended, the first day of Portability. Great deal, and the number spelled my company name.
I also miss the Templeton era of r.h.f
Telephones aren't what they used to be.
I'm old enough to remember "23 ring 2" phone numbers and crank phones. We still have a land line and a Nortel 2500 set but I have a smart phone that I don't really know how to use as well.
I've only been here for a few years, but I'm glad that someone picked up the reins after Bill Horne fell ill. I've watched a number of groups die just over the last few years. This might be the only moderated group I still check into.
