Indeed, and that is what Packet8 is offering to a large and growing fraction of their customers.

I can't help but ask why, if Packet8 can do it, why can't Vonage?

Of course, Packet8's E911 costs more. Surely Vonage wouldn't put their customers' lives at risk merely to save a few bucks.
