Please help cure a browser problem [telecom]

I usually use Chrome when browsing for stories to put in the Digest. It has an "incognito" mode so that when I reach a site that demands I turn off the ad-blocker, I can just switch modes and access the site without blocking ads. Lately, however, when I use "incognito" mode to access a page, I've encountered several sites that answer with an error message which says: In order to read our site, please exit private/incognito mode or login to continue. So, I'm in need of information about the incognito mode in Chrome. 1. How do these sites detect that I'm using the incognito mode? 2. Can I do something to prevent the sites detecting incognito mode? 3. Come to think of it, how do sites detect that I have an ad-blocker running? TIA. Bill
