M's Pub fire has attention of Verizon after email from daughter of restaurant's founder

The looming legal tussle surrounding the M's Pub fire has caught the attention of senior management at the nation's largest phone company, Verizon Communications.
Verizon was seeking to lease fiber-optic cable in the Old Market from owner Unite Private Networks before the fire this month.
Underground drilling related to the fiber-optic project led to the fire, which started after digging ruptured a natural-gas line.
