Anyone familiar with old lead/paper loop plant?

A reporter for a major newspaper is interested in learning more about the pressurized (usually lead-sheathed) cables that were installed in telephone networks until plastic came along. Some are likely to still be in service. If any old outside plant folks are interested in talking to her about it, please contact me directly (remove the QRM from my email) and I'll pass the contact info along. Thanks.
