After several fatal fires where Ionization smokes have failed to activate in a timely manner in Mass. there is now a movement to ban there installation and use in the state. the above link has information plus a video that shows ionization units failing.

Be very careful about the outfit that put up the cited website. It's another of Richard Patton's devious endeavors. There's a fair chance most of the "members" are fictitious characters. Patton is associated with those stupid wind-up fire alarms that have been sold door-to-door for decades. The company pretends to be interested in replacing ionization smokes. Their real ploy is to get a foot in the door and push wind-up (no kidding) heat detectors.
That one looks legit, Nick. Apparently, Patton cited it in his scam website but it's not his.
