Baystack 470 not booting

Mar 04, 2005 1 Replies

Hi All,

I have a BayStack 470 which fails to boot successfully. It passes all the diag tests, but the gets to "Decompressing the image ..." and stops. I'm new to Nortel (familiar with Cisco & HP) and was wondering if it is possible to break the boot sequence, config the switch manually and download a new image from a TFTP server.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

cheers,

Mark. I think that you can interrupt by sending a "ctrl-c" during the diag. You will then get a menu, that enables you to download a new diag/image. To do this, you will need a TFTP server directly connected to the switch.

It saved me from RMA'ing a 470 some time ago.

Good luck. Morten
