Installing In-ceiling Speakers in Insulated Attic

Feb 23, 2006 2 Replies

Does anybody know whether it is OK to install in-ceiling speakers in direct contact with attic insulation? It doesn't sound like a great idea to me, so I'm wondering if any products exist to create a barrier between the speaker and the insulation in the attic.

The speakers that I am about to install are Infinity ERS 110IIS.

Thanks in advance, Randy Eastland

Hi, As long as insulation(fiber glass?) does not interfere with speaker cone movement. Or you can install a baffle made out of think cardboard or such. Tony

The insulation will distroy the speakers. It has to be kept away. Plastic sheeting or plastic bags will work. Leaky
