I have a home network using a Proxy Server to share the net between about four clients. I am wondering whether or not I need firewalls on the client pcs or does the firewall on the pc connected to the net take care of it all?

many thanks in advance

Well, this has been a subject of much HEATED debate over the years, so there's no real right or wrong answer. Better to simply hear the arguments and decide for yourself. Here's just one (of many) such examples:

Granted, if you're using a proxy server as your firewall (as opposed to a dedicate router), it's not exactly the same, but close enough. In the end, the issue comes down to remote vs. local firewalls.
