X2931 module in 2924XL switch

Have two 2924XL switches each with two X2931 GigabitEtheernet modules and I fibre connection GigabitEthernet1/1 to same on other switch and ditto for 2/1. The lights are green on all but 2/1 on second switch which is amber. looking at it, it says it is up recognizes the media, output below.

I am running IOS (tm) C2900XL Software (C2900XL-C3H2S-M), Version 12.0(5)WC17, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

Ideas?

It probably means that the port is in blocking mode due to Spanning Tree.

Check the output of show spanning-tree on both switches

Tp prove, during a maintenance window disconnect the fibre from GI 1/1 and after spanning tree topology change completes the LED for GI 2/1 on the second switch should go green.

If you want to use both links simultaneously then create a port channel and config both GE interfaces to be a member of the port channel.
