My problem: We have 5 VLANs configured on a switch, which works great, we can find and print to different printers on different VLANs but we cannot scan from a scanner on 1 VLAN to a PC on a different VLAN. What are your suggestions to solve this problem?

Can you ping the scanner from that PC? How do you have your VLAN Interfaces configured on the router? Do you have any access lists? Do you linit UDP broadcasts on the router? If your scanner uses multicast to communicate to PCs, do you have it enabled on the router?
