I'm trying to track down a vendor to do out of warranty repair on a Cisco PIX 501. Any suggestions?

Cisco. Call the TAC and they will replace your box for a flat fee as long the hardware is still in supported by Cisco. Otherwise your best bet is to purchase a used replacement from a reputable vendor.

But it could be absurdly expensive to do so. I had a quote from Cisco TAC once of $8900 to do a one-time repair on a $32,000 list price box. When Smartnet was only $2400 or so.
But, the PIX 501 is so inexpensive, any repairs most likely will approach the price of a used one anyway.
