no named access-liosts on router 836!?

hi @all,i wanted to create some named ACLs the following way:hostname (config)# ip access-list ...--------------------------------------------------------------------ROUTER(config)#ip ?    Global IP configuration subcommands:  accounting-list       Select hosts for which IP accounting information is                        kept  accounting-threshold  Sets the maximum number of accounting entries  accounting-transits   Sets the maximum number of transit entries  address-pool          Specify default IP address pooling mechanism  alias                 Alias an IP address to a TCP port[...]------------------------------------------------------------------------unfortunately it semms that my IOS 12.2 for my router 836 doesn't supportthat - even though my book says that all IOS above 11.3 would support that.can someone plz tell me where the prob is?tia elmar

plz send the show version of the router.there should be no reason why it should not support it.

well, seems that this doesn't do the trick. ROUTER(config)#access-list ?              IP standard access list           IP extended access list         Extended 48-bit MAC address access list         IP standard access list (expanded range)           Protocol type-code access list         IP extended access list (expanded range)           48-bit MAC address access list  dynamic-extended  Extend the dynamic ACL abolute timeras far as i can see i can not define a access-list-name :-(
