IOS NAT (PAT) - dynamicstatic nat subnet mask

Hi all, when configuring IOS NAT is the following possible -


  1. Provide NAT(PAT) for clients with a /16 prefix with a /21 address, ex:

access-list 50 permit 10.50.0.0 0.0.255.255 ip nat inside source list 50 pool 50 overload ip nat pool 50 x.x.x.x y.y.y.y prefix 21


  1. How about static nat translations such as:

ip nat inside source static 10.50.x.x xx.xx.xx.xx where 10.50.x.x has a /16 prefix xx.xx.xx.xx has a /21 prefix

Hi, I have some doubts with Network Address translation, it's operations. Can u tell me it's process means how to translate inside local address, overloading inside global address. Can u plz tell me from where to post massages or for discussion.
