Implementing health check using 'Content switching module'

Hi,



I have an application running on 2 m/c's A and B. A and B are connected to the rest of the n/w via. a Cisco switch. The Cisco switch has been configured to implement health check using tcp protocol on a specific port.



I have no knowledge at all about "Content Switching Modules" and can't figure out what needs to be implemented in my application such that if the application on m/c A does not respond, switch recognizes this and re-directs all requests to the application running on m/c B.



Would help if I could some response on this.

Hello,

basically, you would configure inband health monitoring, which means that you define a threshold value for abnormally ended sessions, and if that threshold is exceeded, the server in quetsion is removed from the defined server farm, and all traffic goes to the remaining server.
