HSRP Scenario

Hey all -

I have the following scenario:

2 Cat 3750 acting as a collapsed core running HSRP (and interconnected on one link). 2 Cat 2950 each connected to each 3750. PVST+ running for loop avoidance. 4 VLANs: - Users on the first 2950 - Servers on the second 2950 - MIS on both 2950s - VLANA directly off of the 3750s Now VLANA is a remote site with both a metroe connection (directly in the HSRP master 3750) and a router w/ a T on the backup 3750.

If any of the links to the 2950s go down, STP unblocks and I recover. If I lose a switch, HSRP fails over and I recover. Now let's say that just the VLANA link goes down on the primary 3750. What is the preferred method here:

1/ USe tracking and fail everything over to the backup 3750 2/ Use a backup route with a higher metric to the remote network pointing to the backup 3750

Thanks! B
