frame relay switch configuration issue

Hey. I'm working on configuring my network in a multipoint frame relay configuration.



Here is what i got.



FR - 2522 s3 - R3 s4 - R4 s5 - R5



R3 - 3640 s1/0 - FR



R4 - 3640 s1/0 - FR



R5 - 3640 s1/0 - FR


FR config



frame-relay switching ! interface Serial3 no ip address encapsulation frame-relay clockrate 64000 frame-relay intf-type dce frame-relay route 304 interface Serial4 403 frame-relay route 305 interface Serial5 503 ! interface Serial4 no ip address encapsulation frame-relay clockrate 64000 frame-relay intf-type dce frame-relay route 403 interface Serial3 304 frame-relay route 405 interface Serial5 504 ! interface Serial5 no ip address encapsulation frame-relay clockrate 64000 frame-relay intf-type dce frame-relay route 503 interface Serial3 305 frame-relay route 504 interface Serial4 405


R3 interface Serial1/0 ip address 10.12.16.3 255.255.255.248 encapsulation frame-relay no fair-queue


R4 interface Serial1/0 ip address 10.12.16.4 255.255.255.248 encapsulation frame-relay no dce-terminal-timing-enable no fair-queue


R5 interface Serial1/0 ip address 10.12.16.5 255.255.255.248 encapsulation frame-relay no dce-terminal-timing-enable no fair-queue


from what ive read, this configuration is correct. let me know if you have any other configuration changes you would recommend.

Why you don't define DLCI on R3, R4, and R5?

well shouldnt the status on the circuits be Active? They are all showing inactive as of now. would the map statements on the spoke routers help solve the issue?

The "active" state means that circuit is ESTABLISHED between "local" and "remote". So, if your "remote" is not connected, DLCI will be "inactive".

So with my configuration, the remote would be connected therefore the the dlci active. Am I correct with this statement? AFAIK, my configuration should work.. yes?

I determined the issue to be a bad NM-4A/S module in one of my routers. Everything is working correctly now.
