DHCP in a vlan over trunk on C2950

Hi,

I want to connect a linux box to a cable modem. The modem is on a C2950, the linux machine is on a different C2950. Modem and PC are both in the same vlan, and trunking is enabled for this vlan. However the linux pc cannot get a DHCP address from the modem.

Before I had this configuration, modem and pc were on the same switch, which worked fine. Now it seems that broadcasting is not working across switches. Is this correct? Is there anything I have to configure? I read the O'Reilly "IOS in a nutshell" book and searched the web but couldn't find anything.

Broadcasts are sent to any port belonging to the same VLAN including trunks.

How did you test that VLAN trunking is working ?
