Cisco Catalyst TCP-MIB::tcpMaxConn.0 = INTEGER: -1

Can anyone explain why when I do an snmpget on this OID - I receive -1 using 32 bit linux or solaris? Using 64 bit RedHat Linux I get an error..

"truncating integer value to 32 bits TCP-MIB::tcpMaxConn.0 = INTEGER:

4294967295"

The command I am running..

snmpget -v 1 c4006-1.yabadaba.com -c wilma tcpMaxConn.0

I don't understand what the -1 or the >32bit value is about.

Thanks.

Found the issue. The snmpget and snmpwalk tool I was using was assuming it was to use snmp v1. Once I specified v2 or v3 it worked. Looks like v1 does not support integers great than 32 bits. Now I know.
