Change Spanning-Tree Root Bridge

Due to some topology changes in my switched environment, I would like to change the root bridge from Switch A to Switch B. Initially I used the CATOS command "set spantree root 1-4094" on Switch A which set the Spanning Tree Priority to 24576 for all VLANS.

If I go to Switch B and also issue the "set spantree root 1-4094" command, will the Spanning Tree Priority on the original Root (Switch A) be automatically changed or must I change it manually ? All other switches in the environment have a priority of 49152.

Basically, is there a best practice procedure for changing the Root bridge in terms of changing the STP priorities or can I just use the "set spantree root 1-4094" command ?

Change priority to 0, and look up "root guard" at cisco.com
