Getting into line 2 of a router

Aug 02, 2005 1 Replies

Q.1 If I wanna get into line 2 of a router, is this a valid command:

RTR(config)#line 2 RTR(config-if)#

Q.2 Is 'no shut' needed in line and loopback interfaces?

thanks in adance

Q1, line 2 is a valid command and will bring you into the configuration of line 2. The prompt you have given is incorrect tho, it would show RTR(config-line)# not config-int

Q2, NO, by default they are already administratively up.
