On the typical DSL line, what happens when you turn on the modem? Not the first time you've ever used it. Just after you've turned it off a few hours.

Viewed from the outside, my Actiontec GT701 appears to do things in this order:
- It boots [it runs Linux]
- It starts synching up with the DSL signal from the phone company
- It enables the LAN and wireless
- Once the DSL circuit is synched, it authenticates with my ISP
- The WAN is enabled and I'm online.
