DSL to 40,000 feet

There are DSL repeaters. I have been involved in providing DSL service to a customer as far as 50,000+ feet over copper. The economics are best for fiber to a box of electronics called a digital loop carrier (DLC) and all customers served from that DLC with copper being designed for

12,000, 15,000, or 18,000 feet. When these combinations of copper and fiber are used DSL can be delivered to all customers in the DLC's area called a carrier serving area (CSA).

If you are served by one of the large companies it will depend on their plans for your area and that depends on the density of customers (customers / square mile) and growth in the area. If your served by a small independant company you can maybe go talk to them.
