Why are my upload/download speeds opposite of each other when connecting to a reptear/extender as ooposed to the router on which it feeds

Good Fiber router model something-200. TP-Link Touch P5 (801.11ac) router in repeater mode. SSID's of teh repeater are different than that of the Google fiber router.

Connecting to the fiber router 5G network I get 180-200 down and

80-100 up.

When I connect to the 5G network on the repeater I get 80-100 down and 180-200 up.

I really don't give a shit about the physical speed difference between 80 and 200... it's just not knowing *why* that's bugging the shit out of me.

BTW: I dd brick the router somehow. The web server stub was hosed to, but I got it re-flashed vIA TFTP. And when it came back up, it was still configured as my neighbors router. It never even factory reset. It just went poof!
