I was discussing my wireless broadcast fun recently via email with a buddy who lives a few hundred miles away and works for our Highways department here in BC. Here was his response....

That sounds like a different approach. We have just started using some Freewave 900MHz modems (non-license)at some of our radio sites to get a webcam signal from a remote roadside in Pine Pass in a 50km hop to an internet port in MacKenzie. The tests are working great, but our video refresh is down to about a picture every 30-40 seconds. The clairity is pretty good.

Question: Generally.... do you think the long time lag between video images is due to the large file size... and/or possible a CODEC issue?
