I've opened up a NetGear USB adapter like WG111T and would like to connect a small external antenna. They have a U.FL connector and two components labled ANT1 and ANT2 near them. Are these small surface mount antennas? How well do they work?
Would I just plug into the U.FL connector to add an antenna or have to remove the surface mount blocks?
I need the USB for a small test vehicle radio link and need to get more gain and distance from the 802.11b/g
