Nope. Move the access point and/or it's antenna to a different location. Wired 10/100 ethernet can run just a little over 100m. Move the router and run ethernet to another local switch. Fiber ethernet can go quite a bit further but you'd have to use signal converters on both ends; adding about another $100 onto the cost.

"Putu" hath wroth:

That depends on the container. 2.4GHz wireless will leak through slots and holes to some degree. Anything over about 1/2 wave (6.25cm) long will re-radiate the signal to some extent. If the metal container is properly sealed, there will be no RF leakage. If it's full of slots and holes, it will leak RF.

If you're thinking of maintaining internet access while going over Niagra Falls in a barrel, I suggest that there are more important difficulties to consider before proceeeding.

Well Jeff, having personally been photographed plunging over Niagara Falls in a barrel:

In actuality, the "real difficulty" was positioning the photographer so that he could "snap" our photo just as we reached the "brink," before our plunge downwards 170 feet.

Additionally, the Cisco Aironet Antenna Reference Guide may be worth investigating:
